Mt. Satima Trek Overview

Mt. Satima, standing at 4,001 m, is the highest peak in the Aberdares and the third-highest in Kenya. The trek features stunning highland scenery, the dramatic Dragon’s Teeth rock formations, and the Twin Rocks viewpoint. It is a challenging hike, ideal for seasoned adventurers seeking altitude and endurance.

Itinerary

• 5:30 am – Meet at Nairobi National Centre, briefing and departure

• 8:30 am – Arrival at trailhead, warm-up, and start hike

• Morning – Trek across moorland to Dragon’s Teeth and Twin Rocks

• Midday – Continue ascent to Mt. Satima summit (4,001 m)

• Afternoon – Begin descent to the trailhead

• 4:00 pm – End hike

• 7:00 pm – Arrive back in Nairobi

What to Bring

3. Warm layered clothing (thermal T-shirt, fleece, shell/poncho)
