Elephant Hill is one of the most popular treks in the Aberdares, beginning at Njabini Forest. The trail offers stunning views of the Aberdare ranges, lush forest zones, moorland vegetation, and on clear days, Mt. Kenya and the Great Rift Valley escarpments. It is a demanding hike, ideal for those seeking an altitude challenge and endurance.

Duration: 7–8 hours
Terrain: forest trails, bamboo, moorland, and steep sections
5:30 am – Meet at Nairobi National Centre, briefing and departure
8:30 am – Arrival at Njabini Forest trailhead, warm-up and start hike
Morning – Ascent through forest and bamboo zones
Midday – Trek across moorland to Elephant Hill summit (3,658 m)
Afternoon – Begin descent via the same route
4:00 pm – End hike at the trailhead
7:00 pm – Arrive back in Nairobi
